Times of Change...
There are many changes underway already this year and many many more to come. For me there is big transformation and evolution happening both in my business and personal life. It's not always super pretty but it certainly is rewarding, even if it doesn't feel like it at times.
The beginning of the year always brings the collective energy of transformation, moving into new ways of being, setting new goals and exploring new ideas. So I'd like to wish you the very best start to your journey in this year 2015. Whatever you're up to, wherever you are, let the energy of change carry you through what is necessary to create and manifest your desires. Take a break from excuses and see what wants to be born through you. It doesn't need to look pretty and it doesn't need to look like anything in particular to anybody else.
This year I'm committed to more self-love, more heart based action and more risks that will (hopefully) support my personal evolution. Of course they will! It is already so, but now that I'm telling you, feel free to hold me accountable ;).
Wishing you infinite love and support in your life journey. And as always, remember this ~ You are loved, you are worthy and you are so welcome here.
Blessings and Blissings,
What's one thing that all Human Beings have in common?
The one things we all have in common is that we were born.
Some of you were born the way nature intended it, arriving into gentle hands and surrounded by loving smiles and conscious, caring people. Some were extracted from their mothers womb through a cold, sterile surgical procedure. I myself came through the birth canal but the first thing I met upon arrival was cold metal forceps, clamping down on the sides of my fragile skull, twisting and turning my delicate neck and spine as I was forcibly pulled into the world.
We were each conceived. Some had parents who were in love and desiring a child, others were conceived 'accidentally'. Some were conceived after a heavy night of alcohol or drugs, or perhaps in an abusive situation.
We each spent time in the womb. Nine months in the womb growing our little bodies. What was that environment like for you? What was pregnancy like for your parents? Were they in love and celebrating pregnancy and birth? Was it exciting, safe, blissful, were they experiencing high frequency emotions? Or perhaps they were experiencing low frequency emotions, it may have been a frightening, stressful or even painful time.
What was the relationship like between your parents? Were they loving and supporting each other or distant, cold, indifferent or abusive?
You may have been born in a gentle way or a traumatic way. You may have even been given away if your parents couldn't or wouldn't keep you.
You may be asking by now "why does this matter when I don't remember any of it anyway?" The fact of it is that Birth does matter. It matters immensely. And you do remember it in your body, information stored in your cells, recorded in your limbic or emotional system, hidden in sub-conscious places, but nonetheless very much within you.
Decades of research in pre-natal psychology and more recently in epigenetics, demonstrate that this highly formative time of our lives profoundly affects our long term wellbeing. It matters because whatever your first experiences of life were, from the moment of conception onwards, formulate your primal understanding of what life is like, what love is like and what it means to be here in a body in this world. From these experiences we gain our core beliefs, our basic settings from which we continue to operate throughout our lives. These first experiences become our home frequency or our 'comfort zone', the place we know and understand, regardless of what it looks like.
Some may have no reference point in their Being of real love and safety. If your first experience of life was pain and struggle and this became your place of the known, the comfortable, then you may still be living and creating your life from that place, even now as an adult. We cannot create from a place of love unless we know what it is.
There are many beautiful people in the world who want to create great things from a place of love but this can be challenging, no matter how strong the intention, if we are blocked by old emotional beliefs. Beliefs of which many if not all are just something that someone else told us a long time ago - about how it is and who we are. Symptoms of belief patterns that do not support your highest good include distrust, self-sabbotage, lethargy, highly developed ego, creative blocks, inability to complete (or even start) projects, procrastination, suppression of emotions or instincts…. the list goes on. But these symptoms are only what we see as a result of underlying core beliefs such as I'm not good enough, I'm not worthy, I'm not loveable, I don't love myself (because nobody ever showed me how), I don't belong, it's not safe.
When we heal our emotional imprints we not only soothe our nervous system but we can become effective creators and can create together from a place of love, not masked by fears and insecurities.
Do you want to manifest heaven here on Earth? Do you want to create resilient communities? Do you want to bond together to take action as a collective?
Then we must all do our inner work and become the high frequency beings we need to be in order to achieve this. Are you feeling ready to do what it takes? Let me know.
There seems to me to be a lot of amazing, inspiring people in the world today. I often wonder how some people, as the one individual Human Being that they are, manage to accomplish so much and create so much change in one lifetime. Of course they don't do it all alone, but they hold the big vision and kickstart the movement.
Something I heard recently that is sticking with me is this: "When your vision becomes stronger than your personal comfort, then you will create the outcomes you desire". So the vision first needs to be very clear, then the drive behind the vision can passionately grow. Combine that with a willingness to move out of one's comfort zone and really 'go for it' despite all the blocks and challenges that will appear, and you have a recipe for transformation. Transforming yourself, transforming your community, transforming the world!
Some of the women who have inspired me and made big contributions in the Conscious Birth field include Elena Tonetti-Vladimirova (my Birth Into Being teacher and mentor), Debra Pascali-Bonaro (from Orgasmic Birth), Ina May Gaskin (midwife from 'the Farm') and Ibu Robin Lim (midwife and founder of Buhmi Sehat foundation). Starting at grass roots level and creating big movements, these women have dedicated their lives in service to the greater good and I'm sure each has been pushed out of their comfort zone many times over.
I am aspiring to get out of my comfort zone more and more these days, so I too can offer more goodness to the world. What are you up to?
And as always, remember this ~ You are loved, you are worthy and you are so welcome here.
Blessings and Blissings,
Elena serves humanity through her teachings, writings, films (Birth As We Know It) and workshops and has become 'spiritual midwife' to thousands all over the world. She'll be giving her final workshop this year in November in Germany before 'retiring' to write her long awaited books. Details here...
Are you ready to be activated?
I am blessed to live in a very beautiful, abundant and safe part of the world. I have everything I need and more and yet some days I still wonder what the purpose of this existence is and why it feels so damn hard at times.
It's easy to forget who you truly are among the bombardment of messages from society and media. The television, the newspaper, social media and even our family and friends are there to remind us just how messed up this world is. And then just as quickly they distract us with someone else that makes us feel temporarily better. It's an emotional rollercoaster that lifts us high with excitement then plummets us screaming into the depths. Well where's the inspiration in this you might be wondering?
I came to realize that all the craziness in the world is happening whether I am a part of it or not. It's a much bigger picture that I don't fully understand. I am not an advocate for blissful ignorance, nor am I a believer in getting emotionally caught up in the stories (though I have at times for sure especially when it's a topic that triggers my own emotional hurts). But adding my low vibrational fear and emotional negativity to ANY story only fuels it more. The question remains though, how do we balance the human emotional reaction with the spiritual understanding of 'all is in divine order', with real on the ground action that we can realistically take?
I don't have ALL the answers but here are some things that have helped me immensely:
1. Finding my core - through my journey with Birth Into Being I have come to know this still and strong central place within myself. It is peaceful despite the whirlwind of chaos surrounding it. When I am lost in the distractions I must return to my core and remember who I truly am. It is a place that those with regular meditation practice come to know. It is that place a woman who finds her power during childbirth comes to know. It is a place that yogis and monks know well, and understand the importance of being in this place of higher vibration to send that frequency out into the world.
David Hawkins explains the different frequencies of various emotions in his book Power vs Force, and on his map of consciousness. The emotion of Love vibrates at 500Hz, Peace at 600Hz, whilst Anger comes in at 150Hz and Fear at 100Hz. Doreen Agostino writes, "when humans transform anger/revenge into heart intelligent courage for our collective good, best possible solutions are empowered to set us free.”
Finding and visiting my core, a place of love and peace, on a regular basis not only returns me to calm, but raises my vibration that transmits out into the world. I cannot be effective if I am in lower vibrational state as any emotion under 200Hz does not support life let alone help me create the changes I want to see. Imagine if we were all visiting the higher frequencies more often?
2. Learning from those who embody change - There are a gazillion 'teachers' out there all talking spiritual loveliness and divine order, finding your peace and living in gratitude and abundance. I totally say yes to all that but I also say - let's DO SOMETHING with it. Let's get inspired and do what we can as individuals, as communities to create the world we want to see. The important distinction to be made is that we need not just talk about it but actually bring it into being. Let us bring Heaven down to Earth and EMBODY our spiritualism and activism because just sitting comfortably behind a computer posting on facebook doesn't really cut it!
For those in Australia, we are blessed to have an amazing Human guide visit us in October to share the wisdoms he has collected over many years, from many sources, to help ignite our own inner flames of passion to create the new world. I am super inspired about this and am ready to receive this activation! Andrew Harvey's 'Love in Action' Tour brings him to FNQ October 3-5.
3. Remembering that I am not in this alone - that each one us came to this Earth at this time, for a reason. Know that it is common to have forgotten what that reason is, or to feel disconnected from that quiet core within, where the essence of your being resides. Don't fear, it is always there, you cannot lose it completely and there are tools available and people who can help you remember if simply quietening down and tuning in doesn't seem to work. Modalities such as EFT, EQT, Kinesiology, Birth Regression therapy and of course Birth Into Being, can help to recognize and dissolve limiting beliefs structures and patterns of emotional behaviour that keep you blocked from your inner knowing and peacefulness. Read how one recent workshop participant moved through his inner torment and found peace with a story that he'd carried his whole life.
If you're having trouble finding Inspiration or purpose in life, especially on those 'hard' days, I urge you to take a deep breath and go within. For sure there is turmoil outside in the world but it does not have to live within you and the energy you give to it determines so much.
Many of you understand that emotions and thoughts influence health and wellbeing. Have there been times in your life that you've been unwell and could see the direct correlation between your emotional health and your physical health? I'd like to share a short personal story (well I'll try and keep it short) that illustrates this all too well.
2012 was the itchiest year of my life! I was suffering from intense, acute outbreaks of eczema - the 'experts' said source unknown. The most unimaginable and relentless burning itch on my torso, arms and face that became infected and very painful. I was hospitalized twice that year and it drained me physically and emotionally. Or was it actually the other way around?
2012 was a very emotionally stressful year, with great relationship challenges, an uncomfortable home environment and financial pressures. I was upset and irritated on a regular basis. Lousie Hay writes the probable cause behind eczema as "breath-taking antagonism and mental eruptions". That pretty much sums up how it was for me around that time.
In May of 2012 I attended a 10 day Birth Into Being training with Elena Tonetti-Valdimirova in her home in California. At that stage I had been intensely itching for seven weeks, on heavy duty steroid medications and antihistamines to reduce swelling and so I could sleep at night. I was barely able to take that flight to California but I was determined to go and had asked the specialist to up the dose of my medications, even though I usually refuse to take anything.
On the afternoon of day 1 at the workshop I experienced a process with Elena called a 'Core Cry'. A process that helped me get into my body, past my 'feeling sorry for myself' mind, to shift the underlying energy in my nervous system that was holding this whole itchy story in place. By that evening the itchiness had stopped. By the end of the 10 days, my skin was healing well and I'd stopped all medications.
I was better for several months and then had a relapse later that year after falling back into the same old environments and thought patterns. In early 2013 I finally chose to sit in the drivers seat of my life and changed my environment, reduced my stress levels and practiced greater awareness of my thoughts and habitual behaviours. This is an ongoing process but I can happily say I've been eczema free since I made the changes.
My story is an obvious example of stress leading to illness, thought and emotion directly affecting the physical. Stress is well documented as a major contributor to most illnesses (Atkinson,2000). And the solution - shift the energy that holds it in place, release the need to have this condition. There is much information available now on how thoughts and emotions affect our bodies, (some of my favourite authors are Bruce Lipton, Louise Hay, Dawson Church, Gregg Braden) if you'd like to learn more, check them out.
The Birth Into Being Method has gifted me with many tools to heal my past and work through challenges in life as they arise. There will always be challenges of course, only now I possess the ability to meet them with much more grace and ease than ever before.
My wish for you is that you are healthy and happy - in your body, in your heart & soul, in your mind. If you're not then please find the ways that will work for you to release all that which does not serve you. This lifetime is relatively short and there's no reason to hold back any longer.
Have I got your attention? Oh good!
Okay so I'm not going to birth another baby anytime soon but I am definitely expanding and bringing forth new ideas, projects and awareness. I am busting at the seams with plans that want to become a reality in this 3D. It's quite uncomfortable at times. I'm really keen to complete this gestation period and just give birth! At least to some of my projects.
On the topic of expansion, Nicole Moore, lovely BIB facilitator based in NSW and I, often join forces to bring a greater awareness of Birth Into Being to Australia. You may see contributions from Nicole as our already combined efforts to offer as many people as possible the BIB experience, grow and expand further.

Caught in the emotional whirlwind again!
How could YOU have done this to ME?
Ever been caught in an emotional whirlwind, saying and doing things that you didn't want to? Ever lost your temper, lost your reason, lost your common sense in the heat of the moment?
My neighbours across the street are in a full verbal abuse blowout! He is angry, he is frustrated, he is at boiling point. She is retaliating, standing her ground though not as loudly. Doors slam and it goes quiet for a moment, then doors open and they start again.
It's a long time since I've been involved in any aggressive interactions like that, it is no longer a part of my reality though I do remember it from what seems like a lifetime ago. So heated, so violent, so much rage, so painful. What are we actually doing when we interact with each other in such ways? This kind of behaviour comes from a place of fear, though in the midst of it we are working to instill fear in the other in some way. Accusations, blame, disbelief, guilt, shame.... How could you possibly have done this to me? How could YOU have done this to ME?
Often it's with someone we love. Sometimes it's a stranger. Why would we behave in such a way? When emotions completely take over we are being governed by our Limbic (Emotional) System - a system which is non-logical. The Limbic System reacts to stimuli in the ways that it knows. Stimulus comes in eg. partner yelling, emotions build up, breaking point is reached, Limbic system takes control, reaction is a learned behaviour eg. screaming back abuse in self-defense. To walk away or stay calm would have a better outcome but only the logical mind knows that and she's checked out for now.
Here's another example that some may relate to. A child has lost the plot and just won't stop (kicking, screaming, whinging, annoying a sibling etc.), at first your logical self is in charge and you ask nicely for them to stop. They ignore you. It continues and you ask more sternly. They ignore you. Eventually you have just had it, and you lose it too! Your Limbic (Emotional) System takes over and you react in the way that you were taught as a young child. You yell, you whack the child across their bum, you get violent, you throw them in their room. You just don't know what else to do to make them stop. Then it's done and you feel awful, you can hardly believe what you just did. Why did I do that? That's not me? Oh God I swore I would never do that to my children. I swore I would never do that again. Then you start internally abusing yourself. Double loss. By the way, when a child is behaving like that they are caught up in their emotional system too, there is no reasoning with them in that moment.
The thing is, it's difficult to respond in loving ways when you are being abused because it triggers your emotional reaction system. We can only offer others what we know and what we know was taught to us in the earliest of years by our family. The guy across the street has probably known abusive interactions since he was a child. He has now sped off down the road in his car, and I bet they are both feeling angry and hurt. Double loss.
What pain from the past are your emotions pointing to when they are out of control?
There are ways to heal these conditioned, automatic behaviours and Birth Into Being Method is one of them. When we embark on a journey of Limbic Imprint Re-coding we are able to have experiences 'in our bodies' that are based on love and bliss. These new experiences (that we may never have had before) are imprinting in our nervous system and offering alternative memories from which our emotional system can respond in times of stress. You need to have experienced love and complete acceptance before you can truly create from a place of love and complete acceptance. Your emotional system needs to know that there are other options than just it's original experiences of life and 'love'.
This is a huge topic and I'll be sharing more of the ways Limbic Imprint Re-coding can help heal your past and free you from conditioned reactions in the next newsletter. Or visit www.thebirthingfield.com to find out more now. There's so much I want to share with you.
Until then please know this ~ You are loved, you are worthy and you are so welcome here.
Blessings and Blissings,
The rational logic mind (cortex) shuts down during times of stress and the limbic system takes over - there really is no reasoning. Read this article 'Beneath the Tantrum' by lovingearthmama.
Taking the next step...
This is Sophie from Belgium, blissing out after a Birth into Being process. Sophie immersed herself for fours days of workshop last year in Australia. Next month she is diving in for a full ten days in Germany to become a Birth Into Being Apprentice.
There are new guidelines for certification as a BIB Facilitator and you can find all the details here at www.birthintobeing.com. Practitioners of the Birth Into Being Method can be found on most continents with more trainings happening each year. Some hold regular workshops whilst others incorporate the methods into their current healing practices. Check out the above website to find 10 day Intensives and 16 day Advanced Facilitator training globally. The next scheduled 10 day Intensive for Australia is early June in Bellingen, NSW.
Can I Breathe Underwater for 10 Days?
When I first experienced TEN consecutive DAYS of 'Birth into Being' workshop there were times when I felt my nervous system might be short-circuiting. How much deep healing and LOVE could I possibly absorb?
Some have asked me if it's better to attend two days (level 1), integrate for a time and then come back for another two days (level 2) and so on.
Whilst this is perfectly feasible and works well - even 1 day in the Birthing Field will ripple effect out through your life - I prefer to dive in deep and immerse myselffor as long as possible when the opportunity comes my way.
Longer immersion actually allows us extra time and space for integration, in a safe, loving environment, instead of finding ourselves in the day-to-day again too quickly. Our nervous system is gifted more time to adapt to the new frequencies and we are less likely to slip back into old patterns and beliefs.
During the 10 days we continue to build upon our previous processes, further expanding the range of possibilities our nervous system is able to accept, and diving into different facets of our lives and our being.
It is a truly profound and magical experience as we support each other in our own transformations. Come, come join the next immersion ~ your body, your soul and your mind will thank you for it.

As Love will flow, so will I go
If you are going through any of the changes that are abounding humanity at this point in time you will have, like me, had an intense past 6 months. Okay, make that a year or two! HUGE is an understatement and just when you think it can't get any more deep, chaotic, painful, crazy, life's next lesson pays you a visit making the previous one seem rather trivial in comparison. It is a sign of these times, that our lessons are coming thicker and faster, are more profound than ever and we are sometimes struggling to keep up, to integrate all what is happening.
I don't have all the right words to lighten your load but one thing I am learning is that it is okay to not always know the solution or to see the future clearly. In fact we need the times of complete chaos and disorder so that we can re-arrange ourselves into something new, to adapt, to survive, to grow, learn and raise our consciousness.
"When nothing is known, all things become possible"
If I can be ok in the 'not knowing', welcome the opportunity to re-define myself and put my attention to the 'all things possible', I am on a good path for creating my life in a way that serves me best. All the exciting possibilities and I may now make choices based on love.
Letting go has been the lesson for me of late and I have to admit, it's a whole lot easier when I do (Ego self jumping up and down right now screaming yes but... yeah but...). Just letting it all go saves so much life force energy and i'm seeing that half the stuff I was concerned about doesn't even eventuate. And if it does, I let it go again.
As one very big chapter in my life now closes, I am finding myself out of my comfort zone of what I have always believed to signify safety, connection and security. I'm letting go of the fear and thus it dissolves as fear cannot survive unless I feed it. And I replace it with all the possibilities that resonate with love and abundance in my life. That is my choosing now "As Love will Flow, so will I go".
What are you choosing for yourself in these tumultuous times?
With love, Melissa
Conscious Birth and Empowered Parenting will change the World ~ YES!
Born in Love?
Six weeks ago i was blessed to witness the gentle home, waterbirth of a gorgeous baby girl, with family present and an empowered, confident birthing Mama. Last week another empowered Mama who'd journeyed in a Limbic Imprint Re-coding workshop with me last year, brought her now six month old baby boy for a visit. The birth was wonderful, the first six months have been blissful and she even used the word 'easy' to describe her mothering experiences so far. I say a big YES to all of that!
Life would be very different if we'd all had a gentle and loving entry into this world. Our society and our world would be very different if every mother and every baby was treated lovingly, with respect and kindness. If pregnancy and birth were honoured as they should be, with women feeling empowered as mothers and men as fathers.
Our first understandings of how life is as a newly embodied being, are stored deep in our subconscious, in our Limbic System, forming our basic relationship to life and creativity. Experiences from the womb, during birth and through the early years of childhood have a profound impact on our ability to know and feel love and connection. This is known as our Limbic Imprint and each of us has one, no getting out of it ;-) ~ some imprints are positive, some not so.
I could write volumes on what's all 'off course' in our society, how far removed birth has become from nature and how current birth practices almost always guarantee negative limbic imprinting. Far more inspiring however is to tell of the bliss and the joy that is felt by all when the new generations coming in are birthed in love.
So when I see conscious parents doing all they can to the best of their abilities to bring their children into this crazy, chaotic world in a peaceful, loving, gentle way, it is with heartfelt gratitude that i acknowledge them. The flow on effects for the baby, the parents, the family, our society and this Earth are now well documented, yet still beyond our full comprehension. Immense, Huge, Massive, Magnificent, YES!
My personal desire and my focus is to help make the transition for incoming souls less challenging and to assist in the healing of those already grown, to help release the impacts of their own negative Limbic Imprint. This way we are all going to find our higher potential as Divine Humans. This is where it all begins. This is where the first healing can take place. Thank you for joining in this work, for yourself, for your children, for future generations.
Much love and bliss,
Read about Conscious Birth ~ by Elena
Have you already experienced a Birth into Being workshop?
Have you journeyed through level one or two of Limbic Imprint Re-coding and are wondering what's next?
The good news is there is more, a lot more in fact, up to ten days of releasing, re-aligning and re-coding the nervous system to the frequency of love. Elena will be in Australia to offer the full ten days in the first half of 2014 and soon there will be other facilitators also offering longer programs in Australia and worldwide.
The even better news is that just because you've done it once doesn't mean you can't come again. Many participants have re-experienced the first levels several times, including myself, twice with Elena, once with Heidi and Avi in London and once with Nicole in Byron. As a facilitator i still like to attend as a participant to further my own journey, to continue releasing, to dig to a deeper layer and offer healing to another aspect of my being. Like any personal evolution work this is an ongoing process and requires energy input and commitment to self.
If you experienced the transformation the first time around and feel drawn to continue your journey with the Birth into Being work then please join us again for a future workshop. I wholeheartedly invite you to Dive into the Birthing Field.
